Camping.

Find your way around the park and work out what area will be best for you.

Picking a Pitch:

Somewhere to call home for the weekend:
Before adding tickets for you and your group you need to find yourself somewhere to camp. The River Dart has some stunning spots to camp and lots of variety to choose from. If you’re unsure and need a bit of guidance please read the descriptions of the camping areas below.

Pitch Sizes:
Pitches are approximately 7m x 7m. This is ample space for a campervan, an awning and or Caravan. If this is not enough room for what you intend to bring, you will need to book another pitch.

Electric Hook Up:
These pitches are always in high demand. Unfortunately there is a limited number of these pitches - so we recommend getting in early if this type of camping is important to you.

Additional Information on Fields & Pitches:

If you’re unsure and need a bit of guidance please read the descriptions of the camping areas here. Please note that we use a different pitch numbering system to the River Dart pitch numbers.

Riverside 1: Close to the action and activities.
Pitches here are some of the closest pitches to the main areas. All the pitches are on grass, 8 of which have Electric Hook-up and lovely views down the hill onto Lower Riverside and the woods below. If you like to hit a ball about it’s also right next to the outdoor tennis courts.

Riverside 2: A great area for families and close to wash facilities.
All the pitches are on grass and are a mixture of large double electric pitches along the road and single pitches that back onto the woods. It’s really close to the toilet/shower block and play park (opposite pitch 207) and the kids pump track is accessible either side of pitch 218 and 227.

Riverside 3: A quieter camping area with close access to the woods and toilet block.
Riverside 3 has some of the biggest pitches on site. There’s a are a mixture of large double electric pitches along the road or single pitches that back onto the woods. All the pitches are on grass and the toilet/shower block and play park are close by (opposite pitches 301 - 303) and the kids pump track is accessible to the side of pitch 330 and you can walk to the River at the far end of the field.

Woodlands: Lots of luscious single pitches with Electric Hook Up. A really nice spot for singles, couples and families. Close to wash facilities and kids play ground.
There is always lots of demand for pitches in the Woodlands area, which is understandable when it’s thought to have some of the nicest pitches on site. Some are on grass and some have hardstanding. When looking at the site map you can identify the ones with hard standing as they have a grey area within the pitch which is a continuation of the road. There are also some excellent views of the Dartmoor Bike Park here.

Village Green: Close to the action and activities, great for group bookings.
Here you’ll find a mixture of double electric pitches along the road, single electric pitches with hard standing or single non electric pitches. Most of the pitches are on grass except for pitches 567 - 571. Village Green is in the heart of the site, well located to get to all areas.

Meadows: Big pitches, good for groups, close to a toilet/shower block.
The Meadows field has a mixture of double electric pitches and double non electric pitches. Most of the pitches are on grass except for pitches 642 - 644. Meadows is close to a toilet/shower block in a nice, secluded spot at the top of the site, but is still close to the main bar and restaurant area.

The Picnic Meadow: The flattest pitches on site. Lots of space and EHU.
Pitches in the Picnic Meadow are all on grass. The toilet/shower block is in the middle of the field on the right-hand side as you go in by the stream.
There are 37 pitches with EHU. These run around the edge of the Picnic Meadow, with a run of pitches through the middle that are non-electric. The non-electric pitches are unallocated, so unless you have booked as a club, just rock up and find a space.
The Picnic Meadow is the first field on the left as you come through the gates. It's furthest away from the main bar area but really close to all the outdoor activities.

The Walled Garden: More like the Secret Garden. Nice quiet and secluded camping.
Pitches in the Walled Garden are all on grass. The toilet/shower block is about a 3-minute short walk.
The Walled Garden is tucked away, perfect for quieter camping. There are only 6 pitches with EHU in this field.
